Scheduled backup fails. Magento left in maintenance mode

0

I'm using Magento 2.2.3.

Every morning, I find my Magento site in maintenance mode. I assume that the site is being put in maintenance mode to run the scheduled backup, but the backup seems to be failing (no backup files are being created).

The problem is that I can't find any clue in the logs as to why the backup is failing. I can run a manual backup through the admin console with no issue. I've double and triple checked my permissions.

  • Have you tried 'magento setup:backup'? Do you have CRON set up correctly?
