Login page (Frontend and Admin) - Explain cause of error

0

I run a few shops on Magento 2 and I've had many people claim that their account was temporarily disabled. Most of the time when I check this, they are not locked out and it ends up that they got their username or password wrong.

The error they see is "You did not sign in correctly or your account is temporarily disabled.". They assume they have their credentials correct so assume that they must be locked out.

What is the best way to have 2 possible errors? One for an incorrect username/password and one for a locked account. I'd like to implement something for the frontend and the admin panel.

Thanks in advance.
