Set group id is equal to 2 for wholesale customer registration in Magento 2
Hello everyone I want to set group_id = 2 for wholesale customer registration.
I have to override the registration form in view/registration.phtml
and also written
<input type="hidden" name="group_id" id="group_id" value="2" />
I have also created the observer
MagnetoWholesaleCustomerObserverCustomerRegisterSuccess.php

use MagentoCustomerApiCustomerRepositoryInterface;
class RegisterSuccess implements
MagentoFrameworkEventObserverInterface {

$id = $observer->getEvent()->getCustomer()->getId();

But the group id is coming 1 in the database I want to set it as 2 in database.

I have verified your code, your are doing it correctly, I think instead of getting group_id from $this->_request->getParam('group_id'); try this:
$postData = $this->_request->getPost();
$customer->setGroupId($postData["group_id"]);
$this->customerRepository->save($customer);
